27 years of experience representing executives, senior leaders, and complex institutional clients — exclusively on the side that matters to you.
"When you work with FineCounsel, you work with me. Over 27 years, I have represented executives at every level — and I treat every matter as if my own career depended on the outcome."
J. Andrew Fine is the founder of FineCounsel and has spent over 27 years representing executives, senior professionals, and institutional clients across a wide range of legal matters. His practice is anchored in executive employment law, but extends to complex litigation, international law, asset protection, and general counsel services — reflecting a depth of experience that benefits clients whose legal needs cross multiple disciplines.
Andrew earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1997 and was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year. After relocating to North Carolina, he was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2004 and has since built a practice representing executives and senior professionals across North Carolina, Florida, the United States, and internationally.
His clients have included C-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies, long-tenured leaders at publicly traded corporations, professional athletes, academic professionals at major universities, and senior executives across technology, healthcare, outdoor retail, and financial services. He currently serves as outside general counsel to a large resort company and an international bank, and has handled both transactional and litigation matters in multiple countries throughout the Caribbean and Europe.
Andrew has lectured on comparative legal systems, legal writing, and legal reasoning at academic institutions in the United States, Belgium, Italy, and France — experience that informs the firm's approach to cross-border and international matters. FineCounsel is exclusively executive-side and never represents employers, ensuring that every client receives counsel with undivided focus on their outcome from an employee side point-of-view.
